Our shopping team recommends taking advantage of Prime Day deals in three different ways. First, stock up on everyday essentials that you use all the time, like cleaning and kitchen organization items. Sponges, soap, pantry staples, spices, trash bags—get ’em while they’re cheap!
The second editor-approved strategy is to price-check any big-ticket items you need, including coffee gear, countertop appliances like microwaves or blenders, and even major appliances like refrigerators or ranges. If you know an upgrade is needed imminently, act now so you can benefit from lower price tags. Prime Day is especially a good time to level up your kitchen gear because it falls ahead of the fall’s busy cooking season—the year’s other biggest sale time is Black Friday, which is, of course, after Thanksgiving.
Last but not least, use Prime Day to buy gifts. Sure, we’re five months out from Christmas and Hanukkah, but think about all the birthdays, weddings, graduations, and other special events between now and then. (Also, I hear it’s never too early to start holiday shopping. Just think about how you can smugly tell all those last-minute shoppers that you’ve been done with your shopping since July!)
