Winchester is launching AutoBuck Buckshot, a 12-gauge buckshot load built specifically around reliable cycling in semi-automatic shotguns. That is the whole pitch in one sentence, and it is a practical one. Semi-auto shotguns can be finicky about buckshot loads, particularly lighter or non-standard payloads, and Winchester engineered AutoBuck with an optimized velocity and payload combination to address exactly that.
The load runs #1 buckshot, which is worth noting because it is not the most common choice for general-purpose buck loads. #1 buck hits harder than #4 and patterns tighter than 00 in a lot of guns, and it gives you more pellets per shell. AutoBuck ships with 12 pellets, which is three more than a traditional 9-pellet 00 buck load. More pellets at #1 size means more hits on target and more wound channels, which matters whether you are using this for deer hunting, hogs, or defensive use.
The 1325 fps velocity is the other key spec. Winchester selected that number specifically to ensure reliable cycling across most semi-auto platforms without being so hot that it batters the gun or generates uncomfortable recoil. It is not a reduced recoil load, but it is measured rather than maximum-pressure.

Five rounds per box is the standard packaging for buckshot, and this is being positioned as an all-purpose load that covers hunting, defense, and range training in one SKU. The semi-auto optimization is the differentiator here, but Winchester is clear that it will also run in pump and break-action guns without issue.
