SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) – A Kentucky woman is facing a range of charges after multiple animals were found showing “severe signs of neglect” at a Scottsville home, according to the Scottsville Police Department.
SPD said the Allen County Animal Control responded to a home on Cottage Drive Friday morning. There, they removed three dogs, 12 cats and an opossum from the home; however, SPD said most of the animals “showed severe signs of neglect.” Some of the animals will have to be euthanized due to how poor their condition is, SPD said.
Additionally, multiple agencies worked together to place “vulnerable individuals” who were also in the home in safe accommodations.
“While we cannot discuss those efforts in detail, please know they are a priority,” SPD said about the vulnerable individuals.
SPD said Tina Renee Price, 51, of Scottsville, was arrested and charged with first-degree child abuse (child 12 or under), knowingly abuse/neglect of an adult by a person and second-degree cruelty to animals.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, SPD said.
