Royal Wootton Bassett appeal over cemetery dog fouling

by R.Donald

Concerns have been raised about dog mess on and around graves, with the council stating that “visiting a loved one’s grave should be a peaceful and dignified experience.”

The council is urging all visitors to keep dogs on leads and to avoid allowing them to foul within the cemetery grounds.

The council said in a post on social media: “We understand that many people visit the cemetery with their dogs, whether to visit loved ones or to pass through, and we kindly ask that all dogs are kept on a lead whilst within the cemetery grounds.

“We respectfully request that dogs are not allowed to foul within the cemetery.

“We appreciate that accidents can happen; however, if your dog does foul, please ensure it is cleared up immediately.”
