A cat charity is to host a pet CPR workshop to help teach owners vital skills.
On June 8, Lost Cats Brighton, in conjunction with Coastway Vets, is hosting a pet CPR workshop at the vets on Stevenson Road, Brighton.
The event will begin at 7pm and will teach pet owners basic pet CPR, how to stay calm in an emergency and what to do before reaching the vet.
CPR for a cat can be lifesaving in emergencies like choking, drowning, trauma, electric shock, sudden breathing difficulty and heart failure.
Cats can deteriorate very quickly, and immediate action in the first few minutes may keep oxygen flowing to the brain and vital organs until a veterinarian can take over.

The event will be raising money for the Brighton charity, with tickets costing £20.
Lost Cats Brighton was set up in 2000, with the aim to help rescue, reunite and rehome cats in the area.
The charity offers a lost, found, and reunited register where people from Brighton and Hove, and surrounding areas, can report any missing cats.
This information is then shared via its Facebook page and website, asking for people to get in touch with any potential sightings.

The charity currently has a range of lost cats including Kovu, who has been missing from his home on Sycamore Close in Portslade since March 19.
He is described to have a loud meow and is both neutered and microchipped.
Stormi, a 2-year-old male, is also missing from his home in Old Boat Walk. He was last seen on April 29.
The charity is reliant on support from the public and will be attending several charity fayres over the summer to raise additional funds.
These include the RSPCA show, on May 31, Patcham Duck Fayre, August 30, and Hove Lagoon, September 5.

The charity is constantly looking for new foster carers and asks anyone interested to get in touch.
They also urge people to support its Facebook page, as well as following the charity’s other social media sites.
