Emma Roberts’s Son Rhodes, 5, Walked Her Down the Aisle at Her Wedding

Emma Roberts’s son was right by her side on her wedding day. On July 25, the actress married Cody John at a private ranch in Sun Valley, Idaho. In new photos obtained by Vogue, Roberts shared a special moment with her 5-year-old son Rhodes when he walked her down the aisle during the wedding ceremony.

For the special moment, Rhodes wore a cream suit over a white button-up shirt and a pair of dark green sneakers. In place of a traditional veil, Roberts donned a sheer lace micro veil that covered the upper half of her face as she smiled at her friends and loved ones. Walking hand in hand, the mother-son duo had all eyes on them as they made their way across the lawn and up to the flower-lined alter.

During the ceremony, Rhodes—who Roberts shares with her ex, Garrett Hedlund—sat among the crowd and blocked out the sun with a black baseball cap placed over his long blonde hair. Later, the 5-year-old took off his suit jacket to enjoy a walk along the river with the bride.

As for the guests, the dress code was about as lax as it gets. “We wanted everyone to feel like themselves at the wedding, so when people asked more specifically about attire, we said, ‘Whatever you want!’” Emma said per the photo captions. A few celebrity guests in attendance included her aunt Julia Roberts, Kristen Stewart, Billie Lourd, Demi Moore, and Sarah Paulson—who wore a romantic, tiered lace maxi dress in hot pink by Chloé—the Vogue photos revealed. Emma’s father, Eric Roberts, did not attend the wedding.

Photos further in the slideshow feature Emma laughing as her son, who comes up past her elbow, slips under her veil to drape the tulle over his own head. In January, Emma and Hedlund took a belated trip with Rhodes to celebrate his fifth birthday. “So nice we had to go twice!” she captioned photos from the fun-filled trip on Instagram.

After the ceremony, the American Horror Story actress changed into an unexpected after-party look: a sleeveless black corset dress with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice featured a delicate lace design that flowed seamlessly into a tiered skirt. She braved the grass in a matching pair of black peep-toe heels. Taking notes from his mom, Rhodes also had an outfit change, opting for a white graphic T-shirt and pants in place of his suit.

At the reception, guests gathered inside for dancing and Jell-O shots. According to the photo captions, provided by photographers Norman & Blake, the live band rounded out their set with “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls, a song Demi Lovato and her husband Jutes also hold dear to them.
