A CAR was driven the wrong way down a narrow Salisbury street before smashing into parked vehicles and being abandoned in the early hours, police have revealed.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses following the hit-and-run involving a black Vauxhall Corsa (VRM: LS13 WTP).
The incident is believed to have happened sometime between 10.30pm on Saturday, April 18 and 4.30am the following morning, in the Friary Lane area at the junction with Brown Street and St Ann Street.
Police say the car was driven the wrong way into Friary Lane before crashing into two parked and unattended vehicles, leaving significant damage behind.
Whoever was behind the wheel then fled the scene, leaving the wrecked vehicle behind.
Investigations suggest the car may have been stolen earlier that evening from Brown Street Car Park, after its keys were reportedly lost.
Officers are now working to piece together exactly what happened during the late-night incident and who was responsible.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven in the area, or who has dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that could help identify the driver.
