How Snakes, Other Reptiles Are Having Safe Haven In Cross River’s TCTI Overgrown Bushes

Snakes and other reptiles are reportedly having safe haven in Teachers Continuous Training Institute (TCTI) Biase’s overgrown bushes.

Insiders in the Institute confirmed that though there have been no incidents of snake bites but some snakes have been killed within and outside the Institute.

Sources expressed that as precautionary measures, the environment needs to be kept clean. “The situation is the opposite. The Management is claiming that it has money to clear the bush,” one of the sources said.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that the Chief of Ibogo, where the Institute is located, His Highness Aita Obhot Evong Otei, had verbally informed the Institute to clear its side of the grass during the last sanitation of June 2026. But yet to be done.

“Arising from this and other unacceptable practices, Staff of the Institute are angry over the mismanagement of the Institute that was built by the visionary Prof. Ben Ayade,” the sources who pleaded anonymous to avoid victimization said.
