LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Loxahatchee family safely escaped a house fire early Sunday morning after smoke alarms alerted the occupants as flames tore through the home.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews say they responded to the home on 46th Court North just after 4:30 a.m.
The occupants were awakened by smoke alarms and safely evacuated, according to PBCFR.

Firefighters also rescued two cats from the home. One survived and was reunited with its family, while the other cat died.
Video from the scene captured the emotional reunion between one of the surviving cats and its family.
No one was transported from the scene.
PBCFR investigators are working to determine the fire’s origin and cause.
The American Red Cross has also been contacted to assist the family.
