The skies may have been threatening during her sea trials, but the yacht Netto II has already found sunny shores. Having made a few stops in the UK and European ports immediately after delivery, this superyacht is enjoying the rest of the summer in the Med. Her playful blue hull hints at the personality of the owner, a fun-loving and active cruiser.
Hull number two in the Amels 80 series, this Damen Yachting superyacht is for “an adventurous young family with a love of life on and in the water.” This is according to Jan van Hogerwou, who heads U.S. operations for Damen Yachting. Capt. Fraser Gow, who was the build captain and is now at her helm, agrees. “She is a truly remarkable yacht,” he says. “I cannot wait to take her out onto the open ocean and begin the adventures that lie ahead.”

At 262 feet (80 meters), the yacht Netto II offers significant space for family and friends to enjoy those adventures, supported by a sizable crew. In fact, she exceeds the 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio so often welcomed, with 20 professionals among the captain and crew and 14 in the owner’s party. When the megayacht is at anchor, the beach club certainly will be in demand. It opens on three sides, additionally including a hammam and a sauna. It has a gym, too, and a skylight that’s the bottom of the main-deck pool. That pool is 21 feet (6.5 meters) long.
Even longer, the sundeck is a 2,153-square-foot (200-square-meter) social space, with a more-than-ample hot tub. But, none of these alfresco amenities means that the interior is less interesting. In fact, Netto II is a floating speakeasy, with a casino-meets-cocktail-lounge room. The owner envisioned the ambience of a 1960s-era casino, and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design brought it to life. Restful nights come courtesy of seven suites, including a 5,565-square-foot (517-square-meter) private owner’s deck. The remaining six guest staterooms are all on the main deck, providing some of the best views onboard.

“It has been a privilege to bring this experienced owner’s vision to life,” notes van Hogerwou. “Netto II is ready for ocean exploration and time shared with family and friends.” Those days on the water could eventually include the United States. The yacht’s predecessor is a launch from 2014, with the same dolphin blue hull color. Specifically, Netto is a 115-footer (35-meter) from Nordlund Boat Company, the U.S. yard renown for its fully custom yachtfishermen. Netto has indeed chased fish, but she’s also gone cruising from Alaska to Mexico.
