BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a fatal auto vs pedestrian collision Thursday.
Franklin B. Crawford, an 85-year-old St. Stephen resident was identified as the deceased.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Crawford was hit and killed at approximately 11 a.m. when a Ford pickup, that was travelling west on Schurlknight Road near Backwoods Road, hit him as he was crossing Schurlknight Road.
Crawford was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the pickup was uninjured.
Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol , Berkeley County EMS, and North Berkeley Fire & Rescue all responded to this incident.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
